Free, real-time SSL certificate inspection — no signup, no install.
SSL Check is a free, real-time SSL certificate inspection tool built for developers, sysadmins, and website owners who need to quickly verify the status of any domain's SSL certificate — without installing anything or creating an account.
When you submit a domain, our server opens a direct TLS connection to that domain on port 443 — just like a browser would. We read the certificate the server presents, extract its metadata, and return the results in real time. No third-party APIs, no caching, no data storage.
The entire check typically takes under 2 seconds. Results are never stored on our servers.
An expired SSL certificate is one of the most avoidable causes of website downtime. It takes under 30 seconds to check and fix — but only if you know it's about to expire. SSL Check gives you that visibility instantly, for free, for any domain.
We also provide a downloadable .ics calendar reminder after each check, so you can get an alert in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook before the certificate expires.
SSL Check is built with Node.js using the native tls module for direct certificate inspection. The frontend is vanilla JavaScript with no frameworks — fast, lightweight, and accessible. The site is hosted on Vercel and deployed globally via their edge network.
